Today I would like to introduce you a place in Barcelona which I'm very fond of: the café & restaurant Carmelitas. Whenever I'm looking for a place to go for a coffee with a friend, or to have a meal along with some cool music, this is what comes to my mind. Carmelitas serves a range of tasty meals with fair prices, Spanish traditional starters and tapas, the typical Catalan beer Moritz, wines, coffee, and free Wifi Internet. So, it turns out to be a great deal, whatever the plan is!
Located in Raval, the heart of Barcelona, close to the Ramblas and the Boqueria market, Carmelitas offers an accurate but diverse menu – following the offers of the season – and a cuisine elaborated with Catalan products. Its aim is to create simple dishes with sense along with an interesting selection of Catalan wines.

The restaurant, that once was a convent, is divided into three zones, two different meal service indoor rooms: the entry room is designated to lunch and snack service over the day and in the evening it becomes extended to the other room, for dining service and jazz live concerts that happen every now and then. The third area is a beer-garden on the outside. Carmelitas interior is decorated with snug vintage cream coloured chairs and the floor is made of these antique and traditional tiles that can be found in many of the houses around the city. The charming environment of the place is accomplished with details in red and brown for the windows and walls, large black and white photographs, and of course, jazz ambient music.
